9 a.m. to 1 p.m.: After a complimentary pick-up at your hotel, you’ll head north on the iconic Golden Gate Bridge on the way to Muir Woods. You will pass through Mill Valley and then up panoramic California State Route 1, with optional photo stops to capture the San Francisco Bay Area’s beauty and views of the Pacific Ocean.
At Muir Woods National Monument, your tour guide will provide you with entrance tickets (included in the tour price). You will enjoy a self-guided tour in this serene forest of ancient redwoods, and then have free time to shop at Muir Woods’ gift shop where you can also enjoy a break in the coffee shop. Next we will travel to beautiful Sausalito, where you may dine have a quick lunch at one of many bay-view restaurants.
1:00 p.m. or 2 p.m. to approximately 5 p.m.: After your visit to Muir Woods National Monument and Sausalito, your private tour guide will accompany you to the Alcatraz Cruises ferry terminal on Pier 33 to embark on the next ferry to the world famous “Rock.” Included in your entrance fee is an award-winning self-guided audio tour available in English, German, Spanish, French, Italian, Japanese, Dutch, and Chinese Mandarin. You’ll also see breathtaking views of the city of San Francisco from the island. After your visit to Alcatraz Island, you’ll return to your hotel on your own, at your leisure.
Please note: There is no food service on the island, so it is advisable to bring a snack or have lunch before your visit. The temperature drops on the island, so please dress in layers for multiple weather conditions. With many stairs and hills on the island and prison property, it is best to wear comfortable walking shoes. The distance from the dock to island is about 1/4 mile (0.4 km) and the elevation change is about 133 feet (41 meters). An electric shuttle runs twice an hour from the dock to the prison building, and from the prison to the dock, or there is a path to walk on.

The only online calendar available on our website is extremely hard to manage and update on daily basis. This calendar governs all our tours and available in over 10 different languages which multiplies the number of tour options by 10! When Alcatraz tickets are sold out, we cannot simply block the calendar for these particular date(s) because this will prevent all other clients from booking any of our tours in 10 different languages, this would put us all out of business! Alcatraz represents only 1% of our tours and it’s extremely impossible to block the calendar each time Alcatraz is sold out. For that reason, we have amended these terms and conditions on our website stating clearly unequivocally the following terms regarding Alcatraz tour and tickets:
-All our tours including Alcatraz are subject to availability even if the transaction is approved. We do reserve the right to void or refund your transaction when Alcatraz tickets are sold out, this is totally out of our hands as the only provider of Alcatraz tickets and tours are governed by the U.S. National Park Service.
-We do require 8 business weeks in advance when booking our Alcatraz tour during the peaks season, holidays and week-ends. The peak season refers to the period of April to the end of October.
-We reserve the right to offer you alternative tours when Alcatraz is sold out, if you decline our offer, we simply and fully refund your transaction which takes about 10 business days before your funds are available to you as stated on our terms and conditions page available in all languages.
Common mistake some customers do: When Alcatraz tickets are sold out, customers rush desperately to book directly Alcatraz tour on our website without taking the time to review our terms and conditions in this regard, we are not to blame in this case as we made it extremely clear that we have no control over Alcatraz tickets when they are sold out, for that reason we do require at least 8 business weeks booking in advance!
