This popular combo tour will take you to the ancient forest of giant redwoods in Muir Woods National Monument, and California Wine Country in a one-day adventure. In Muir Woods, you’ll experience an ancient forest of giant redwoods, the tallest trees on earth. Within this magnificent national park, there are numerous and easy hiking trails along Kent Creek, a gift and coffee shop, and restrooms. Your guide will assist you with photos and answer questions regarding the unique ecosystem and history of these giant redwoods that are more than 1,000-years-old.
After this green adventure in Muir Woods, you will travel to Muir Beach overlook and enjoy a short hike on the ocean-side, located off California Highway 1. Afterward, you’ll travel north to the wine country, to enjoy your first wine tasting experience. Let us know your wine taste preferences for a fantastic and relaxing experience.
You may also visit a charming Italian-style winery where you can sample fresh-pressed olive oil. You will also visit historic Sonoma and its downtown plaza, the birthplace of California, where you will taste wines and cheeses. Sonoma Plaza is a charming square filled with boutique wineries, restaurants, shopping courtyards, and a relaxing and pleasant experience. Sonoma is also home to the oldest wineries and vineyards in California. You can also visit the Spanish-Mexican old Mission, the barracks, and Sonoma Cheese Factory.
If you wish to visit Napa Valley, you can stop at one of the elegant wineries in Napa. Please note that wine tasting fees are not included in your tour price. We recommend Sonoma Valley for a relaxing wine tasting and dining experience.
After lunch, we will escort you to one or two more wineries to enjoy spectacular views and wine tasting. An optional guided tour may also take you to visit one of the Sonoma wineries and caves to learn more about wine growing and aging. A side trip may also take you to one of the oldest wineries in California where you can see the largest and biggest wine barrels in the world!
After an exciting wine experience in California Wine Country, your tour guide will drive you to San Francisco. We also offer drop-off in downtown Sausalito, where you can enjoy dinner and return to San Francisco by ferry (ferry tickets are not included).

Travel on the panoramic California State Route 1 via Mill Valley to get to Muir Woods National Monument round 9:40 a.m. Your entrance fees are included. Take a hike or enjoy an exciting guided walking tour through the giant redwoods. You will also have free time to shop at Muir Woods’ gift shop or have a break in the coffee shop.
After this exciting tour to the redwood forest in Muir Woods National Monument, your tour guide will drive you through Kent Canyon to the beautiful Muir Beach overlook. This breathtaking vista offers a picturesque, quiet cove, hidden beach, and beautiful lagoons. We will take a short hike to a rocky point on the ocean-side. This is the perfect spot for whale and bird-watching.
As we drive north on Highway 101 toward the Wine Country, you can see the Richmond-San Rafael Bridge, a 1956 double-decker bridge that measures 5.4 miles. On your right, passing through San Rafael, you will see Frank Lloyd Wright’s architectural masterpiece, Marin County Civic Center. We will then travel along Highway 37 to Sonoma Valley through Carneros wine growing region, famous for its elegant Chardonnays and Pinots. You will first enjoy a tasting experience in a charming winery, where you may also visit an olive oil press for delicious samples. Afterward, we will visit historic Sonoma where you will enjoy your lunch.

El Dorado Kitchen offers California cuisine with a French influence. This restaurant offers a stone courtyard for outside dining, a relaxing lounge, with a fireplace for cocktails, and is open daily for lunch and dinner.
Maya Restaurant; offers an eclectic menu blending Mayan flavors with the Bay Area's famous bounty of produce, creating a unique flavor experience.
The Girl and the Fig serves French-California cuisine. Book in advance.
La Salette, offers contemporary Portuguese cuisine.
Taste of the Himalayas is a Tibetan, Nepali, and Indian restaurant in a courtyard on the east side of Sonoma Plaza.
Swiss Hotel Restaurant. This full-service restaurant offers Italian fare.
Sonoma Cheese Factory, offers casual barbecue, sandwiches, cheese, gelato, and has a gift shop to take cheese home with you!
Sunflower Café has salads, sandwiches and many vegetarian options. At this self-service, restaurant, customers can eat in cozy backyard.
Basque Boulangerie Café offers sandwiches and pastries.
The Red Grape Sonoma is a family-friendly pizzeria located a half-block from Sonoma plaza.
Cafe La Haye located just off Sonoma Plaza, it’s a quaint, stylish nook, known for a creative, seasonal, American menu, made from local ingredients.
Historic Steiners Tavern is a casual sports bar and restaurant located in Sonoma's downtown plaza, with TVs, pub fare and pool tables.
After lunch, your tour guide will drive you to two or three wineries off-the-beaten path, or in a castle. Among the wineries you may visit, are: Larson Family Winery, Homewood Winery, Artesa, Roche Winery, Jacuzzi Family Vineyards and Olive Press, Viansa Winery, Ledson, San Francisco, Bouchline, Acacia, Robledo Vineyards, Sebastiani, and Domain Carneros. We’ll pick them based on your taste and schedule. Wine tasting is not included so we go where you want to go with no restrictions and away from commercial and visit the wineries of your choice.
4:00 p.m. Head Back to San Francisco
After such an exciting day in the Wine Country, we will drive you back to San Francisco via the Golden Gate Bridge. We’ll stop at the Marin Headlands vista point for beautiful views of the San Francisco Bay Area and Pacific Ocean. You may also ask your guide to drop you off in downtown Sausalito, where you can enjoy dinner and return to San Francisco by ferry (ferry tickets are not included).
